Tenerife
Discover the exquisite flavours and captivating magic of the island of Tenerife. Located in the Canary Islands archipelago, this jewel in the Atlantic is known for its incredible natural, geological and cultural wealth.
Although the jewel in the island's crown is Mount Teide, a volcano which, at 3,718 metres high, is the highest peak in Spain, its gastronomy is not far behind.
Wines from Tenerife
Tenerife has an ideal climate and geology for wine production. So much so that the island has five different designations of origin: Tacoronte-Acentejo, Ycoden-Daute-Isora, Valle de la Orotava, Valle de Güímar and Abona.
In these regions, privileged by the rich volcanic soil where the vines are grown, we find numerous wineries that produce quality wine of all kinds: dry white, fruity white, red...

Wine is also the protagonist of the famous "guachinches", places in Tenerife where locally produced wine is served with typical dishes of Canarian gastronomy, such as "escaldón", "papas arrugadas", "ropa vieja" or "garbanzas".
Tenerife honey
The local honey is another highly prized product. This is because beekeeping is an essential part of Tenerife's cultural heritage, and plays a significant social role in preserving the abundance of flora, agriculture and landscapes on the island, thanks to the valuable work of pollination carried out by bees.
To encourage this work, this sweet delicacy has its own Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) "Miel de Tenerife". This PDO only covers honeys that have been produced, conditioned and packaged in the defined geographical area within the island.
It is characterised by a great diversity of types and flavours due to the multiple microclimates and types of topography found in the territory.
The honey of Tenerife can be multifloral (without predominance of characteristics of a specific species) or monofloral. In CanarianMarket you can find such unique varieties as molasses honey, heather honey or Teide broom honey.
Aloe vera from Tenerife
The Canary Islands have unique conditions for growing aloe vera.
The variety grown here is Aloe Barbadensis miller, also known as aloe vera. It is one of the varieties with the most medicinal qualities. Apart from this, the volcanic soil, the trade winds and the exposure to the sun, among other things, give the Canarian aloe vera a lot of active ingredients and minerals that enhance its benefits.
