The almogrote has the texture of a pâté made with cured fatty cheese. It is produced in a traditional way, following the typical recipe of La Gomera, which indicates that after the crushing of all the ingredients, it is packed in 200 g glass jars, as they are packed with regulated temperatures and pasteurisation process. It is reddish orange in colour, with a characteristic aroma of medium intensity and durability and a creamy texture. It is ready for consumption but it is recommended to stir before use and to store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, but once opened, it should be kept cold.
