Majorero cheese is recognised by the Protected Designation of Origin and is made from milk extracted from the Majorero goat, a species endemic to the island of Lanzarote. It is a wedge of natural soft cheese, matured between 8 and 20 days and has a shelf life of 180 days after packaging.
